just watched The League of Extrodinary Gentlemen. And, while it was the cheesy geek dream kinda movie, i greatly enjoyed it. Just--ya, no real words other then "weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!"

i mean, i grew up watching the Alan Quartermane (sp?) movies as a kid. seriously, i remember getting sick once in grade school and camping out on the couch to watch King Soloman's Mines and absolutely falling in love with the scene where they get stuck in the gigantic soup pot (stupid yes, but as a kid it was wicked funny) and Sean Connery did an excellent job.

i was inspired to finally read The Picture of Dorian Grey by Oscar Wilde because of this film. I'd been meaning to but never gotten around to it and this kicked my arse into gear.

as i've raved and mentioned, Dracula is by far one of my favourite Victorian era novels, and, though they did make her a full fledge vampire in LXG, they also stayed fairly close to her character in other respects (the scenes where she's studying things etc etc)

another classic i remember watching (and adoring) as a kid was Twenty-Thousand Leagues Under the Sea, Nemo is one of those villian whome will never cease to intrigue. And the sword action they gave him in the movie? not to mention the Nautalis? wicked. cool. though i couldnt help but think "Batmobile!" when i saw his car *lol*

lastly, Morearte (sp?). My first introduction to this character was, admittedly, Data's encounter with him in ST:TNG. need i say more?

Tom Sawyer, the Invisable Man, and Jr. Jekhle (i know i'm misspelling that, my apologies) are on my lists to read but as yet i havent gotten around to them.

But anyway, i think you can gather that this movie? like, a bunch of childhood heroes/stories and even more grown up interests all rolled up into one dramatic splash with a bunch of scord fights, shoot outs, and big explosians and i was like in heaven *lol*

yes, it was very cliche but every tale about these characters had a good bit of the cliche in it so if you add them all up what do you think you're gonna get? still, i really enjoyed myself *lol*

And now i wont go into anything more specific about the movie which i enjoyed because i've gone on too long as it is and really, i think i dig too much into movies *lol* like books, i just really like analyzing them and picking them apart, finding out all the little nuances and crap and i'm sure i drive everyone around me crazy.
