right so, the word for
15minuteficlets this week was glisten and i thought, hey! that sparks ideas. but umm, my idea concluded itself after a measly 9 minutes and bottoms out at a rather pathetic 154 words...
Calm Before the Storm
Teyla's POV early-mid The Storm

In all her years, she had seen many things on many different worlds. Some that were amazing and breathtaking, heartbreaking and warming both. But as she had told the Atlanteans, never before had she witnessed something such as what this coming storm promised.
Jumpers were already being prepped to fly out to the mainland and she knew she would be on the first one out to help her people. It seemed almost inconceivable, the sort of destruction they were facing, especially now in this moment, standing high above the waters of this world.
Teyla leaned both hands on the smooth metal railing of Atlantis’ many balconies and stared out across the calm ocean. Its surface glistened like in a crystal basin. So perfectly untouched and of all things—peaceful.
Yet she had seen those clouds gathering below the distant horizon, and though it was difficult to imagine, it would be foolish not to try.
