1. Total number of books I've owned: Ehh....hmm, 1000? somewhere in that neighborhood. probably not more then that though because i went through this 2 yr phase where i basically borrowed a zillion things off my sister's shelf instead of buying many books cause i was broke most of the time. also? she has a lot of good books i wanted to read *lol*
2. Last book I bought: Cairo: The City Victorious by some journalist stationed in Egypt and The Faerie Queene, complete edition by someone i cant remember at the moment.
3. Last book I read: the last book i finished was Sons and Lovers by DH Lawrence. At the moment I'm about 1/3 through Cairo
4. 5 books that mean a lot to me: i. Dracula, by Bram Stoker-- quite possibly my favourite book because it actually got me a little on edge (amazing feat) and i loved the beautiful structure as well as the writing itself. simply beautiful. ii. Pride & Prejudice, by Jane Austen-- made me laugh and cry and beat my head and i just adore it. P&P gave me my love of Victorian lit. iii. The Light Fantastic, by Terry Pratchett-- because i was laughing by the first page and i never stopped. It helped me feel less lonely because after reading it that there were other people out there with the same sense of humor as me and that i wasnt so weird really. iv. Martin the Warrior, by Brain Jaques-- this was the first Redwall book i read as a kid and it broke my heart. absolutely. its such an amazing story of courage and revenge and loss and it always sticks out in my mind. v. Cyrano Debergerac, by Edmund Rostand-- technically a play but still, this story made me cry in my history class (when we watched the Depardue french film of it). its the ultimate story of self sacrifice and testiment of true love and i adore it.
thats all i suppose. :) oh! i want pie *twitches*
