Only a bit of a SG rant

winter_roguei posted this awhile back on my fb but that isn't really the proper place for it.
I've been mostly gone from LJ due to a rather bad breakup with SGA (I still haven't watched the series finale, a part of me just can't do it). But you know, there are always new shows, and good shows, so it was foolish of me to think I could really replaced fandom with world of warcraft (save me!).
Some thoughts on the current stargate situation....
Some of you have heard me rant on this topic, but that's not what i'm here to do today. This is just a little followup to Brad Wright's intial comments concerning Atlantis's cancellation in (2008?)
From an interview taken shortly after the Atlantis cancellation: “When discussing the cancellation of Atlantis was it ever considered that the fans would not react well to it or to SGU as a consequence?”
Brad Wright: If we make a good show, you will watch it. If we don’t, you won’t.
Earlier this month Scifinow published another interview with Brad Wright, this time to discuss how badly Stargate Universe is failing:
“I don’t think if we for any reason go away, it is an issue necessarily of the quality of the product that we’ve been making,” said executive producer and co-creator Brad Wright. “I think getting moved on the schedule has hurt us. And the fact that some of the fans that liked SG-1 and Atlantis were so angry that they have deliberately hurt us, which is unfortunate.”
Damn those fans for being angry! I mean, it's not like they have a reason to be right? They should eat any tv shit i shove down their throats; for i am Brad Wright.
And yes, by not watching a show that i feel is a badly written Star Trek: Voyager ripoff (think about it >.>) i am waging war against you Brad Wright! By chosing to not watch a show dictated by a casting staff with serious female-body issues and plot lines that tread on female consent issues, i'm making this a personal vendetta against YOU! It has nothing to do with the fact that your show is shit.
And for the record, I believe it bears repeating that tho Atlantis saw a dip in ratings during season 4 they we're back up by the end of what was an interesting (See 5.21 Vegas) and revitalized season 5. I give up.
