A little belated in the feedback here, but I missed the fact that it was up for a couple of days, then I was running around like a crazy woman for another couple of days. Finally got to settle in and read.
You created such a strong sense of place here, and Wesley's uneasy place in it makes it even more interesting. His world-weary tone really puts me in mind of "Casablanca" -- and the name Ric crops up nicely to reinforce that sense. It's always a treat to see Wesley in his rogue demon hunter persona! And there's that intriguing history between him and Oz....
