writerly musings of popularity

sometimes it feels like i would give my write arm to have a gig going like Rowlings does. i've never read any of the HP books and dont really plan on it (too long and not interesting enough for me personally when i've got so much else i want to read) but the fact that people around the world practially hole themselves away to read the second the books come out...thats got to be an amazing feeling.

hmm, to day i need to get to rereading Romeo & Juliet for a prereq test next month. i started last night, got to page 3 and was like, "bah! this is why i hated R&J!!" because opening of pg one you've got Sam saying: "I'm all big and tough and damn those Monteque's piss me of."

and Greg replys like: "Yeah, you talk but really you talk like a blown up coward."

Sam: "I do not! if i met a monteque right this minute i'd kill 'im! hack of 'is head and then rape his women!."

and Greg, not only snide but disgusted: "Yeah, but look at it from the other side."

Sam (puffs up manly chest): "Oh, they'd be happy to get a piece of me!"


uggg *beats stupid overblown Shakespearian plot with stick* i really like Shakespeare's poems and comedies etc etc but i just do not see what people see in Romeo and Juliet.

wow..umm... i think 3ishhrs of collaging fried my brain. dinner tonight consisted of coffee, salmon with parmesean (like, salmon that been boiled in water in a plastic bag last week, reheated and smothered in plain ol' kraft parmesean), and york peppermint paties. *blinkblink*

...nope, nothing else to say in this post.

i have no project. .. well, ok, i *could* continue the Romeo & Juliet reading but read/wrote notes on 10pgs of that already today and thats all i have to do to have it finished in 9 days so i'm, for once, right on schedule. so, project. i dont have any collage ideas banging down my door and it seems like half the blend challenge sites i like to frequent are on brb status and i cant settle on an icon subject and i'd be totally cool with writing mcshep or at least *trying* to write mcshep but i have no writerly muse. ooooooooooo! Eskimo is on the radio!

this

collage i made earlier for a challenge at effulgent blends (yes i'm feeling a bit lazy). i'm pretty happy with it despite the bad quality of the pics. i think it works that they're semi-out of focus. the challenge was to pic one of 15or so phrases and make something inspired by them. this was supposed to represent Buffy's maturity not just literally but in a more figurative sense (from the way she threw a temper tantrum in Prophecy Girl to her actions in taking out Adam/confronting the First Slayer)

*sways* the opera part!! gawd, thats amazing.
