movies, bad friday, ta work--el cutted for your convenience

moving linearly from Friday, well Thursday night, i lost some notes for a class and didnt have time to study for a test in that class thursday night. which, normally wouldnt be such a losss, its just one test right? could be, then again, last quarter this proff only ever got around to giving out one test -_-

that night it snowed and we all sat waiting with bated breath to see whether they would close the campus or delay classes. within a 50 mi radius (and yes, there are several other school within that radiu *lol*) we were the only place to stay open. again, i didnt not have all my hw done for my first class but this time i actually did ok.

the rest of the day proceeded in a horrendous little satirical comedy where i screwed up a lot and didnt get much done and probably got a bunch of crappy grades.

the bright side? ta-ing for The C. whose World History papers i was grading. omg! it was so funny. ok, some were terribly sad but for the most part i just couldnt stop laughing afterwards. how does someone put Egypt, Cairo AND the Nile River in southwest Africa on a map? how? it made me want to become a teacher just so i could be continually entertained by humanity's studpidity.

Hmm, ok, going to jump back a bit to Thursday mid afternoon. i was sitting with Shane and he's tlaking about a book he recently ran into and read and loved and has the second on special order for him at B&N. he asks me if i've ever heard of "Jim Butcher" and while the name does indeed sound really familiar i can't remember why until Shane pulls out the book (because the guy carries everything around with him if its the new obsession *lol*) and i just about squeel at the cover because, low and behold, the reason i've heard Jim Butcher's name is because he's the Harry Dresden guy. long story short, Shane leant me book #1 which i read in less then a 48hr time period. not the best thing, grammatically i've ever written, and he tends to use cliches a little too much BUT it was a very entertaining and easy read which i think i really needed after spending two week on 1984 (which i loved but still took be forever to get through)

ok, last couple things. Saturday went out and bought some movies to take home and crash on the counch in front of. these were Kill Bill v.1 and Pitch Black. as for Kill Bill, enjoyed it but want to leave a final judgement till i've seen the other one.

Pitch Black on the other hand, had to restrain myself from running out and buying the sequel right there and then. i really enjoyed it, much more then i thought i would.

and yup, thats the highlights. art post might be forthcoming today if i remember to do it *lol*
